Heart for Guatemala partners with and supports local organizations that provide educational pathways, for disadvantaged children and families, that enable them to redefine their narrative of success and opportunity within their communities.

Ongoing Projects

Escuela Integrada

Our primary project is to support this small private K – 9th grade School (in Jocotenango) near Antigua that serves more than 180 students (and their families) who are in extreme poverty. 74% of the Guatemalan population above the age of 15 is illiterate. With a 20-year track record of proven excellence, Escuela Integrada has set out to reverse this trend by supporting the families of hard working non-educated Guatemalans. Sponsored students receive an advanced education, two meals per day, family counseling and afterschool programs.  Heart for Guatemala hopes to build a long-term partnership with this amazing school to help improve the literacy rate, learning environment and overall well-being of the students and their families.

Current Projects: Library, Books, Educational Support Services, Create Stable Learning Environments as possible

Completed Projects

Escuela Las Delicias

Escuela Las Delicias is public school in the rural town of Taxisco, Guatemala approximately 2 hours from Antigua and serves over 300 students from kindergarten to 9th grade. While the education is free, the government does not provide school supplies. The bathroom facilities and infrastructure were in very poor condition. We partnered with Start with a Smile Project, ConstruCASA, Ministerios Buena Vista and a generous donation from a Rotarian in Kim's hometown of Milton Freewater, OR,  we were able to raise necessary funds for capital building projects to build new restrooms and to improve and repair the existing buildings.

Current Projects: Bathrooms, Water, Sanitation & Hygeine (Wash Project)
